1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Hangar mobile application and website (the “Service”) operated by Fly Hangar, LLC (“Hangar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Hangar is a social flight tracking platform that enables pilots and aviation enthusiasts to automatically track flights, share trip data, connect with the aviation community, and access airport information. The Service includes mobile applications, web applications, and associated cloud services.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post through the Service, including flight data, photos, videos, comments, and profile information (“User Content”). By posting User Content, you grant Hangar a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that:

  • You own or have the right to share the content
  • Your content does not violate the rights of any third party
  • Your content does not contain illegal, harmful, or objectionable material

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
  • Upload malicious code or interfere with the Service's operation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
  • Use the Service to collect or harvest personal information of other users
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without our permission

6. Flight Tracking and Location Data

The Service uses location data to provide flight tracking features. You acknowledge that:

  • Flight tracking requires “Always Allow” location permissions on your device
  • Flight data is recorded automatically when flight conditions are detected
  • Live flight position may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings
  • Flight tracking is provided for informational and social purposes only and should not be relied upon for navigation, safety, or regulatory compliance
  • Hangar is not responsible for the accuracy of flight data, weather information, or airport data

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription (“Hangar Pro”). Subscription terms:

  • Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store account settings
  • Refunds are handled in accordance with Apple's refund policies

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Fly Hangar, LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Firebase, Mapbox, ArcGIS, FlightAware, and Mux. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Hangar is not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. FLIGHT TRACKING DATA, AIRPORT INFORMATION, AND WEATHER DATA ARE PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLY HANGAR, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, FLIGHT INFORMATION, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Washington State.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
